WSDCS New Working Arrangements

Important Update on WSDCS Groups and Family Support Services

As a direct result of the ongoing Covid -19 pandemic and the essential rules and guidance given by the Scottish & UK Governments, we have, as you would expect in order to protect our children, young people, families and our staff, had to postpone our Saturday Clubs and Youth Group indefinitely. The same is unfortunately also true of face to face family support. However, the good news is that the staff are all working from home and continuing to provide that support albeit in a different way.

The Kids Zoom Club has gone from strength to strength & currently runs 3 times each week on Zoom. Activity packs are sent out to the children at home and we all join together on screen to share the activities with each other. It's a joy to be able to communicate in this way, supported by Nikki and Sarah our BSL Interpreters. Our virtual Youth Group continues to run each Tuesday with a variety of games, quizzes and challenges. All activities are planned and organised with the support of our young people.

As we enter this new phase, we would also like to remind & assure everyone that we are still here for you when you need us and will continue to be here for you when the dust settles. We can still support our families via phone, email, social media, FaceTime and virtual meetings so if you need anything or would just like a chat, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Similarly if you are not already part of the clubs but would like to join please do let us know. All are welcome!.

If we all continue to look out for one another, spread a little kindness and do whatever we can to help those who are still unable to venture out from their homes, we will get through this together! Please stay safe and look after each other and don't forget we are here for you.
