1 September 2016
I hope that you are well. I am writing to let you know that I will be leaving the National Deaf Children's Society to take up a new role as Chief Executive with Cosgrove, a Scottish charity specialising in working with children and adults with additional needs. My final day with National Deaf Children’s Society is Friday 2 September 2016.
It has been a hard decision to make the move as I have really enjoyed working with NDCS. The organisation is in a strong position and our recent funding successes mean we will be able to make a positive contribution in Scotland over the coming years to the lives of deaf children, young people and their families. I wanted to thank you for the amazing support and work that you do for NDCS in Scotland and personally for your support to me over the past three years. I have been working closely with Brian Gale, Director of Policy and Campaigns, around a transition plan and we have put in place interim Director arrangements to ensure continuity of leadership in Scotland and Northern Ireland at an important time.
NDCS have appointed Angela Bonomy for a temporary period as the interim Director for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Angela will start with us on Monday 5 September 2016. Angela joins NDCS with a wealth of experience in sensory impairment. Over the past 13 years she has worked as a senior manager for the Scottish government in a range of roles including leading on the modernisation of audiology services and as national audiology services manager. Angela is well acquainted with the work of NDCS and has served on the Country Advisory Group for NDCS Scotland since it was established.
If you have any queries about the management arrangements for Scotland and Northern Ireland, please contact me or Brian Gale directly.
Very Best Wishes for the future.
